Pre-Conference Workshops

Join us the day before the doors open on the trade show floor on Wednesday, March 26, for ISA's pre-conference workshops. These valuable workshops have been designed for sign industry professionals to examine the industry from three unique perspective - that of the new business owner, the global sign industry player and as a woman working in the sign industry today.

Description: According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are around 180,000 businesses that have multiple locations. There are five million businesses with only one location and nearly 14 million businesses employ one person. This workshop is for any new sign business owner, whether yours is a start-up enterprise, or you are the new CEO of an established sign company.

Starting a new business moves you through the important tasks of building a strong foundation for a business to the more tactical aspects concerning marketing, managing and money. This workshop will build on your knowledge and experience and provide tools and resources to help you build your business, determine what is required for expansion and how to navigate through the industry to get the job done. Are there "triggers" that keep you up at night? You'll have an opportunity to share and listen to others who share these same issues. This is an excellent start to your time at the show! We will address buying, selling and shipping internationally.  ISA/Southern States Sign Council Golf Tournament

Wednesday, March 26 1:00 p.m.

Cost: On or Before March 13: $150.00; After March 13 or Onsite: $150.00

The Southern States Sign Council and the International Sign Association invite you to network and enjoy an afternoon of golf in our Golf Tournament! It will be a scramble format with a 12:00 pm shotgun start. More than 140 golfers of all skill levels will participate in this event. The $150 per player fee covers green fees, cart, unlimited range balls set up one hour before the event, lunch and awards party. Teams will be arranged so that each golfer will have a terrific time. If you would like to be paired with specific players, please indicate this below. Golfers from around the world will be participating in this entertaining event. All International Sign Association members are encouraged to attend ISA's membership and division meetings, taking place during our annual International Sign Expo. ISA holds annual division meetings in order to provide a forum for our members to discuss issues relevant to their business needs. In addition, ISA holds its annual membership meeting in conjunction with the Keynote Luncheon, in order to deliver the state of the association speech and to recognize key individuals who have provided outstanding service to ISA's mission over the past year.

 Global Sign Forum & Reception

The 10th annual Global Sign Forum will take place on Thursday 27 March 2008 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. At the forum, participants will discuss matters of international interest to the sign industry, including sign illumination restriction, future trends of the global sign industry, challenges and opportunities with conducting business overseas and ISA's first International Trade Mission.

The Global Sign Forum is an event open to all Expo attendees with an interest in global business, trends and technology. Hosted by Sapna Budev, ISA's international relations manager, and ISA's International Committee, the forum gives international attendees an opportunity to gather and exchange information and opinions on the issues and problems common to the sign industry around the world.

 ISA International Partner Forum

ISA is hosting this partner forum for its international affiliates. This event will provide a free exchange of ideas, requests and analysis on the role of sign associations in the industry. ISA is looking for volunteers to join a strategic advisory panel that will work with the International Committee in 2008. If you are a leader within a sign association or a sign company in your country or region, you may request an invitation to this event from Sapna Budev at sb@signs.org. This is a valuable opportunity for sign industry leadership around the world to meet and network with ISA staff, board and committee members.

 ISA Keynote Luncheon & Annual Membership Meeting

At the ISA Annual Membership Meeting, ISA invites its members and show attendees to hear ISA Chairman Ken Von Wald report on the state of the association, present ISA’s top honor, the Kirk L. Brimley Distinguished Service Award and present awards to ISA’s Sign Design Competition winners.

Keynote Speaker Pat Williams, author and senior vice president of the Orlando Magic, presents Walt Disney’s Five Secrets to Success. To sell more, faster and easier than ever before, it helps to look at those who have had the most success. Through relevant and amusing anecdotes, Pat Williams reviews the qualities that helped Walt Disney become one of the most successful entrepreneurs in American history. Walt’s Five Secrets highlight a magical, miraculous way of life and offer pragmatic principles for meeting one’s personal potential.
