When it comes to ISA International Sign Expo 2021, don’t go it alone. Bringing additional staff can pay off in multiple ways.
1 Employee development. Your employees will not only benefit by making important connections and the latest education, they will learn just how much you value them. You’ve made an investment in their future—and that will pay off for years to come.
According to the Society for Human Resource Management, 41 percent of those who work at companies without a development plan say they will leave within the next year. And 94 percent of employees say they will stay at a company longer if it invests in their professional growth.
One attendee at ISA Sign Expo 2019 closed his shop and brought his entire seven-person team. He had intended it as a reward for a good year. But he found that it ignited a spark of creativity and passion in his team that pushed his next year further forward.
2 A second opinion. As a business owner, it can be challenging to fully understand all the pain points and opportunities throughout every step of your operation. But the employee who works in that area certainly understands. So task your employees with looking for solutions to their biggest challenges, or ideas for expansion as they walk the tradeshow floor. Then, one night at the event, gather for dinner and ask everyone for their best ideas, innovations and thoughts. You can then determine where you want to invest further, or which tradeshow booths you want to visit for more. Another option: challenge them to share an idea that they learned at the show with the entire staff when you return. That might multiply the creative spark.
Granted, it isn’t easy to take a team to an event. It may mean certain things at the office don’t get done. There can be added expenses of hotels, food and travel. But investing in bringing the right people can provide many dividends and provide a boost to your bottom line.
